“The Movie” (2026) Screening
“The Movie” (2026) is an experimental documentary by directorial newcomers, Lincoln He and Sabrina Li. The two filmed over the course of a year, had access to the same footage, and separately made two different cuts. “The Movie” is what happens when both are shown sequentially.
The first part, “Let’s Go Into the Dark,” follows our filmmakers the night of a blood worm moon as they enter an abandoned mall. The second part, “End of Summer, 2026,” functions as a loose bildungsroman as our filmmakers face the inevitable question: what now?
An unwavering exploration of doubt as much as belief, “The Movie” grasps for meaning at every turn.
